I Heart U Gwen

Our granddaughter just turned 22, which makes us feel OLD! She's a senior in college and will complete her master's degree within the next year. We are so very proud of her and her accomplishments, but in our hearts she is still a little girl. For her birthday I used an image from Some Odd Girl called I Heart U Gwen. Really, this image could be used for many occasions besides a birthday - thinking of you, sending my love, etc. I could not figure out how to make my Silhouette Cameo cut around the image, so I just did the best I could with my little scissors. Meanwhile I picked up the "How To Trace Your Cut File in Silhouette Studio" instructions that are free from Some Odd Girl. Hopefully I will figure it out for the next time - lol!
I used Copic markers to color the image. I added some ribbon, two tags, a doily, a little bling and the "happy" diecut to decorate my card. I apologize for the fuzzy image - I did not realize this until after our granddaughter had the card. :-( Anyway, she was very happy with her card - I hope you like it too!

Have a blessed day!

Ice Hockey

I have a great nephew (turning 9) that has been playing ice hockey since he was 3! He is a goalie and is pretty darned good at it - so good that other teams ask for him when they need a goalie. His favorite color is red, so it's really nice that his team uniform is red and black. I have many digital images from Kenny K Stamps, a now-closed online store. Currently, he is only doing Illustrations for toys, games and packaging. The image I used for my card is called Ice Hockey. I used Copic markers to color it, cut it out and used foam to make it sit up off the background. The background image is from some free digital ice hockey paper I found online. The current Outlawz Challenges challenge for "Crash Your Stash" is to use a stencil. Well, it has been a very long time since I've used any of my stencils and it took me 2 days for find them - lol!! I used two stencils from Tim Holtz - to soften the background a little - the "Rays" in red Distress Ink and "Burlap" (for a net) in brown in Distress Ink. I made the sentiment on my computer and used just a few sequins for embellishment. Take a look and let me know what you think!
Copic markers used:
Skin E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Gloves, Helmet (shadows) W1, W0
Uniform R22, R24, R29, R39, W7, W5, W3, W1, W0
Have a great day!

My Best Friend

Hi Hi! By now you have learned that there is no rhyme or reason for my posts - no regular, clockwork, every week, two weeks, month, etc. Just whenever I have time to post - it's life! There is SO MUCH going on every day and week, that it's really all about when I have a few minutes to show your something. I just finished the Outlawz Challenges monthly Progressive Freebie Challenge and thought it turned out pretty nice, so I thought I would take a few minutes to put it on display. The image this month is from All Dressed Up and is called My Best Friend. Please check out the All Dressed Up site on Etsy - the images are really sweet! I am really not a dog person and only know less than a handful of people who are, so I took the dog out of the picture along with the sentiment, "My Best Friend." I colored the image with Copic markers (still taking coloring classes at Kit and Clowder), recolored some digital paper to match (the purple gingham background), added some bling and jewel flowers and a little tag that I printed on my computer. Really not too complicated! Take a look and let me know what you think!
Have a wonderful day Just For You!

Heartfelt Wishes Redux

I just love Tiddly Inks digis and for my niece's birthday card I used an image that I had used for my sister-in-law a couple of years ago, Heartfelt Wishes. The image came with extras, so I used some of those for this card. Although this specific image is no longer available, there are still many images that you will find adorable. I colored this with Copic markers and used a gold pen on the heart strings. My niece's favorite color is red, so I tried to use more red than any other color. The dress was red, orange and yellow. I added a large heart with the sentiment printed on vellum and hung it with gold thread, added some sequins and used a colorful background paper from my stash. Let me know what you think and check out Tiddly Inks images - they are wonderful!

Have a great day and rest of your week!

Wryn Blooms

My sister's birthday is on Valentine's Day and her favorite color is turquoise, so, no traditional red stuff for her birthday card - lol! But, I think that's even better, it doesn't limit me to red for her birthday, being on Valentine's Day and all. The image I used for her card is from Tiddly Inks and is called Wryn Blooms. Tiddly Inks images used to be available at tiddlywinks.com, but are now only available on Etsy. With that being said, she did not move over all of her images, and Wryn Blooms did not make the move (in case you were thinking about picking it up). It is a versatile image that can be used for many different occasions besides a birthday. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the diecut and then printed the image on it. Then I used Copic markers to color it. The chipboard is from Make It Crafty - I colored it with Copic markers to match my image and put Glossy Accents on the top. I added ribbon and little jewel embellishments to finish it off. Let me know what you think!
Have a wonderful bloomin' day!
