Hurricane Harvey

I used this image for one of my great-nephew's birthday card last December and thought I would use it again for another great-nephew's birthday card this year - lol! Two toddler boys in the family, 6 months apart - whew! The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called Hurricane Harvey (PERFECT for a toddler boy!) and it even comes with the sentiment. My great-nephew loves dinosaurs, too, which made this an even more perfect image for him - I added a diecut dinosaur and put a little googly eye on him. I used some lego paper I had on hand to cut out three little flags and diecut a couple of cars to add also. I used copic markers to color the image, including the wall behind the boy. I take the coloring classes from Kit and Clowder, so you learn something from every class that you can apply to other projects, which is wonderful! She even has a few free classes available for you to get started, so check it out! Here is my card:
I hope you enjoy my card! Have a Wild & Wonderful Day!

Hydrangeas

Happy Easter! I hope everyone is having great weather for this holiday.
For my Mother's Day card this year I thought I would color the Hydrangeas from Kit and Clowder's Nature class. There are so many different types on flowers in the class and I am working my way through them, slowly - lol! I just love hydrangeas - growing up we called them "snowball flowers" or "snowball bushes" and mostly had the white ones. For Alyce's class she has you color them in different blues using copic markers and they are really pretty! I used a pretty ribbon in the back, mica chips on the table covering and added some stick-on letters with jewels. I just hope I have done them justice and that my mom likes her card.

Have a Blessed Happy Easter!

You Were Mer-Maid For Each Other

This month's challenge at Tiddly Inks is to use a FREE image she provided. I needed an anniversary card for my nephew and his wife, so this was perfect timing! I used copic markers to color the image, used some cute papers, embellishments and bubbles to hold my sentiment. I am still practicing on coloring hair - it is such a challenge - but those lessons at Kit and Clowder are just incredible! So, look for Tiddly Inks on Facebook and join this month's challenge! (Sorry for the flash glare on my picture.)
Have a great, mer-mazing day!

Cute & Sassy Big Eye Girl Sorry Sally

Happy Monday! This month the Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge featured an image by Oddball Art Co. called Cute & Sassy Big Eye Girl Sorry Sally. It's a super-cute image that I've decided to use for a friend that is going through a rough time with cancer. Although this image has text that goes with it, I chose to type my own inside one of the hearts that came with the image. I've colored her with copic markers using techniques learned from Kit and Clowder. Please check out the classes, they are great and there are several free ones to get you started with markers or pencils - of many different brands, just click on the Class Rooms tab. I added  some twine around the card, a little stick-on image of plumeria (frangipani) and some tiny flowers in her hair. Here is my card - I hope you enjoy it!
Have a great week!

Vintage Bicycle with Flower Basket

You know, if you belong to Kit and Clowder's monthly coloring classes, you'll receive a free class every month, too! For the month of February the free class was a Vintage Bicycle with a flower basket. It was so pretty! So I colored it up and decided to put it on a gravel path (which hid my coloring outside of the lines) with grass on the sides (learned from a previous Kit and Clowder monthly class) and now I have a birthday card! I added just a little bling strip to the bottom - I really like it and I hope you will too!

Have a great day and remember to sit still for a moment and enjoy the view!

Eggs

Do you struggle with backgrounds? I do! I have a stamp, I've colored it, maybe added a ground or floor or grass or something under it, but what do you do for the rest of the area??? Well, March's image for the Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge was Eggs, drawn by Sandra VanBlaricum. This cute image came with grass at the bottom, but I just couldn't decide what to do with the rest of the space. Then I read an article from Splitcoast Stampers about using washi tape for all sorts of things on your cards, including the background - VOILA! How cool is that?! So I colored my eggs and grass in bright colors with copic markers, cut them out and placed them on top of a background covered in 3 different washi tape that I alternated. Easy as can be! So, here is the final card:
So, next time you are struggling with a background, try washi tape!
Have a truly egg-stra special day!
