Christmas Girl With Tree

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have HAPPY plans for the New Year! I've just finished the cute image from LeeAnn's World 101 called Christmas Girl With Tree. (Actually on LeeAnn's Etsy page the image is called Daisy.) It was the image for The Outlawz Challenges Progressive Freebie for December. I tried to keep my color scheme limited so I wouldn't have to carry around too many Copic markers. I added a little background and floor to the image, some Christmas embellishments to dress it up and colored a piece of cord green (with my Copic marker) to add to her hair. Then, the background paper is a little different - have you noticed in some of the Christmas cards you receive that the envelopes have liner paper?? Sometimes the liner is a large piece of pretty gold or silver paper. One of the gold ones was my matte paper. And then a pretty little bag that was used from a store where I bought a pair of socks is the damask gold/black background paper! Keep your eyes open for those things - lots of fun to re-purpose them! Here is the card I made:

Come Here Often

I made my stepdad a birthday card using a super-cute image from Sassy Cheryl's Illustrations called Come Here Often. I drew in the floor to help make the scene look like an old-time ice cream/soda fountain diner. I printed an IU logo on the hat and shirt because that's his favorite basketball team (Indiana University). I used Copic markers to color the image, added three tiny red buttons and the Happy Birthday clip. The image is on foam squares to give it a little dimension. The message on the inside was along the lines of the Shake, Rattle and Roll theme, as I made up my own little rhyme. Many times I try to make up my own little poems or rhymes for my cards, it helps to make it that much more personal, I think! Here's a look at my card.

Moving House

Can someone tell me how to find more hours in the day, Please? Somehow my list of things to do grows faster than my list of things done - LOL! Anyway, this month's Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz features a cute image called Moving House by Hetty Clare Art. I used Copic markers to color it, then cut a grunge frame with my Silhouette Cameo. I added a little saying about moving day with flower and butterfly buttons (the shanks were cut off) and I'm finished! Take a look and let me know what you think!

Winnie Wednesday Bat Dog

Hi, Hi! I hope you've been able to get your Halloween cards (almost) finished! I had one more to complete with the freebie from Polkadoodles for the October Progressive Freebie Challenge at Outlawz Challenges. The image is called Winnie Wednesday Bat Dog and is perfect for a Halloween card! I used Copic markers to color the image; G28, G05, YG03 (clothing, dog costume); Y11, Y15, Y38, E35 (clothing); E23, E25, E27, E29 (hair, shoes, dog); E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20 (skin); N3 (for the ground) and a little touch of B16 on the dog's costume to darken it. I used some twine to make bows for her hair and glued googly eyes on the tombstone sticker skull. And to complete the image I printed my sentiment on the side. Take a look and see what you think!

Halloween Cards

I'm trying to stay ahead of cards that I need to make. For Halloween, I make 9 cards! 7 boy cards and 3 girl cards were needed. I made three cards like the one in my last post, Lorie's Mocha, for the girls. For the boys, I used Sassy Cheryl's Illustrations stamp, Frankie's Pet Bat, and kept the layout of the card the same. I did add some small stickers to the cards that I picked up at Walmart. I also decided to add some Apple Sour Nuvo Glow Drops on their eyes, the brew and fingernails. Lorie's Mocha

Can you believe two posts practically back-to-back??? Me either - lol! This one is kind of a three-in-one: 1) the Outlawz Challenges Progressive Freebie for this month 2) the Outlawz Challenges Wednesday Sketch and 3) a Halloween card for my granddaughter!!! How great is that, to get a three-for-one! The image for this month's Progressive Freebie challenge at the Outlawz Challenges is actually 4 images and like 18 different sentiments you can use with it, all from Imagine That Digistamps! The image is Lorie's Mocha For All Seasons, however I decided to make her a little more ghoulish, ha ha ha! I used the Copic BV08, BV13, BV11 markers for her dress, bow and shoes; YG and G markers for her hair, E70, E71, E000 for her skin. I then used the YG03 for the green highlights among the BV markers. Oh, and I added a sentiment on her cup and a spider sticker (in place of the cherry). I made a couple of eyeballs from circles, copics and googly eyes and put those on top of spider web washi tape and orange/black twine. I cut the oval from some old Halloween paper I had and colored it with the YG01 copic marker. Take a look - so much FUN!!

Yorkshire Terrier

Well, ALOHA! I know, I know, it has been over a month since my last post, but there have been SO many things going on. I've been working on another lauhala hat (pictures when it's finished!), my husband and I went to some WCS dance workshops in Arizona and another card (today's post!). I've been wanting to color this image for my sister's birthday card, as she used to have Yorkies. But, I was also afraid I would mess it up because it requires those small, tiny flicks with a copic marker and I have not mastered those yet - they come out in all different sizes, usually tooooo big. But, my sister's birthday is getting pretty close, so I HAD to bite the bullet and start coloring. This image was from Kit and Clowder's February 2019 monthly pencils class, so the first thing I had to do was convert the pencil colors she used to copic marker colors. Then I carefully watched her videos (yes, the pencil coloring videos) and kept the picture of her coloring next to mine as I slowly got started. I finally finished and put the card together, and I can say that I am pretty happy with it! My sister's favorite colors are blue and green, so I tried to keep that color scheme going. I didn't use too many embellishments; three sequins which I filled with stickles and a double-sided ribbon that I hand-sewed a stitch and gathered and then made a double bow with the rest of the ribbon.
