You Were Mer-Maid For Each Other

This month's challenge at Tiddly Inks is to use a FREE image she provided. I needed an anniversary card for my nephew and his wife, so this was perfect timing! I used copic markers to color the image, used some cute papers, embellishments and bubbles to hold my sentiment. I am still practicing on coloring hair - it is such a challenge - but those lessons at Kit and Clowder are just incredible! So, look for Tiddly Inks on Facebook and join this month's challenge! Cute & Sassy Big Eye Girl Sorry Sally

Happy Monday! This month the Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge featured an image by Oddball Art Co. called Cute & Sassy Big Eye Girl Sorry Sally. It's a super-cute image that I've decided to use for a friend that is going through a rough time with cancer. Although this image has text that goes with it, I chose to type my own inside one of the hearts that came with the image. I've colored her with copic markers using techniques learned from Kit and Clowder. Please check out the classes, they are great and there are several free ones to get you started with markers or pencils - of many different brands, just click on the Class Rooms tab. I added  some twine around the card, a little stick-on image of plumeria (frangipani) and some tiny flowers in her hair. Here is my card - I hope you enjoy it!

Vintage Bicycle with Flower Basket

You know, if you belong to Kit and Clowder's monthly coloring classes, you'll receive a free class every month, too! For the month of February the free class was a Vintage Bicycle with a flower basket. It was so pretty! So I colored it up and decided to put it on a gravel path (which hid my coloring outside of the lines) with grass on the sides (learned from a previous Kit and Clowder monthly class) and now I have a birthday card! I added just a little bling strip to the bottom - I really like it and I hope you will too!

Eggs

Do you struggle with backgrounds? I do! I have a stamp, I've colored it, maybe added a ground or floor or grass or something under it, but what do you do for the rest of the area??? Well, March's image for the Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge was Eggs, drawn by Sandra VanBlaricum. This cute image came with grass at the bottom, but I just couldn't decide what to do with the rest of the space. Then I read an article from Splitcoast Stampers about using washi tape for all sorts of things on your cards, including the background - VOILA! How cool is that?! So I colored my eggs and grass in bright colors with copic markers,cut them out and placed them on top of a background covered in 3 different washi tape that I alternated. Easy as can be! So, here is the final card:

Ava from Di's Digis

This month's freebie for the Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge was Ava from Di's Digis. I had been working on a unicorn, trying to make the mane a rainbow, but one of my markers dropped a huge blob on it! What do you do?! I decided to make Ava a rainbow - from her hair down to her shoes. Ava is colored with Copic markers and the little letter was printed on my computer. I added a few sequins with the colorful paper. I hope you enjoy my card.

A perfect image for a Valentine's Day card or even an Anniversary Card is Bear Love by SheepSki Designs! And SheepSki Designs has so many images that can be used for lots of different occasions - please go check it out! Bear Love is such a cute image and super-easy to color so you could have a card ready in no time with this image. I used Copic markers to color the image and kept my layout pretty simple with some matching papers and a little piece of ribbon. I hope you enjoy my card!

Lucy Lou Princess on Ice

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Well 2018 sure flew by and I think 2019 won't be any different. One of my nieces has a birthday in January so, many times I do a winter-ish image for her card. This year I colored Lucy Lou Princess on Ice from Sassy Cheryl's Illustrations. Her images of boys and girls are all so cute and useful for many different occasions. This image is actually one of three in a set, all for $4! And I think they are on sale for a very short time, so you should go and grab it today! I colored this with Copic markers (G's and BV's for the clothing), cut out with my Silhouette Cameo, used some confetti snowflakes and snowflake paper, gold stick-on gems and finished! I hope you enjoy my niece's birthday card!
